Yeah, I know, I don’t have a witty title this week. Sue me. I’m at a fucking wedding today. Actually, I’m IN the wedding, and no, it’s not my own. But wouldn’t that be hysterical?
First, I’d like to point out to the gentlemen who have found me not only on the dating site, but also right here and are reading this lovely little post to not feel threatened by the fact that I’m blogging about my online dating experience. If you go back through the posts and read them, you’ll discover that 1) I don’t give names, 2) I don’t give details, and 3) this is all written about ME with a sense of humor, I hope. Why? Because it’s MY blog. It’s not about any of you. No one will know who you are, and I’m not going to demean you in public. I’m not that kind of person.
Okay, we may now move forward…
I had a date/meet and greet kind of thing last week, and guess what? This one was actually the height listed on his profile! *choir music from above* I know, it’s a goddamn miracle. My reading? Good man, good heart, good dad, probably won’t like my smoking, but that”s why we have this….
Yep, that’s right, I have an electric cigarette. I’ve had it for awhile, but I kept forgetting about it. Also, I have a doc appointment on the 3rd, so I’ll be asking the doc about Chantix. Why am I doing this? Not for Bachelor #5 (the good dad, etc.), but for ME…and it’s about damn time. However, the woman who lives above me might not live to see the New Year if I’m going to quit smoking.
Anyway, Bachelor #5 and I discovered we have a mutual friend, so then we had to figure out if we’ve run into one another before….like 20 years ago. The possibility is there, but two 40-somethings putting their heads together only causes memory loss. However, I had a wonderful time talking with him. So much so that we stood in the parking lot talking for an hour and a half after the place closed. I’d say that was a good date, meet and greet, whatever you want to call it. We share a good deal in common – writing, music, and apparently friends. Hope to see him again. =)
Aside from that, I haven’t had time for much else because I’ve picked up a new assignment that equals roughly 3,000 words of work (plus research and on top of all my other work) in less than a week. Um, yeah. My brain should be fried by Hallowe’en.
So I guess I’d better finish the two short stories I’m working on!
