Dusk of Death Synopsis

Armen Leza has fallen from Hell, but she’ll be the last to tell anyone that it’s not exactly all fire and sin over there, since no human knows of her prior existence as a demon. Working as a nightshift medical examiner for the city of Phoenix, with the stigma of “the pretty girl who plays with dead people,” Armen finds herself caught up in a series of bizarre and gruesome crime scenes, which make her question her flesh at times. She can hear things unheard by humans, scent out the sordid odor of evil, and see the shades that lurk in the shadows, but if there is one thing she knows for certain, it’s that demons lie.

From ancient tongues and dreams of death to deadly chases by three-headed dogs, Armen’s life is a chain of sweeping events that constantly throw her in handsome Detective Terry Armstrong’s path. She is not altogether thrilled with this due to an experience left in the past, but the man has a way of growing on a person, and her past seems to be rearing its ugly head. They work together to solve the horrific crimes, and inadvertently find their paths to love, and perhaps even redemption, which for Armen has an entirely different significance, being of the demon persuasion at one time.

Fighting a demon is never easy, even for Armen, especially when she’s blocked her Father’s heavenly wisdom from her mind. Armed with a lethal dose of sarcasm, a divine scepter that shouldn’t exist in the human world, and enough stubbornness to drive anyone mad, Armen must find out why all Hell has broken loose, and why in her Father’s name they are after her. Getting the truth out of a demon can be hell, and Armen must do so before they succeed in killing her, which could send all of existence into the Darkness.
