My heart cries

In bittersweet sorrow

Skin aching to feel

Your touch again

My eyes scream

But look so hollow

Lips needing to taste

Your scent again

What’s past is done

Nothing left to follow

Leaving whispers to fall

On deaf ears

Now I am gone

My heart, I will swallow

And hope I don’t choke

On my tears
